SPECIAL SESSION ON

Big Data - the Role of Fuzzy Methods

Short description:
The term “big data” is generally used to denote datasets that cannot be handled by conventional storage and analysis tools because of high volume, high velocity or high variety. Relatively simple statistical approaches have dominated treatment of big data so far.

This session aims to explore the use of fuzzy methods in the analysis of big data, including:

Opinion papers (ideally underpinned by empirical or theoretical results) are particularly welcomed, but we also invite more general contributions regarding the development and application of fuzzy approaches to big data.
